Domed lapel pins are one of the most cost-effective ways to produce a genuine metal pin with full-color artwork. They’re ideal for detailed designs, gradients, and photo-quality images that aren’t possible with traditional enamel.
Your artwork is printed directly onto a metal base and sealed under a clear epoxy or polyurethane dome. The dome adds a smooth, glossy finish and creates a subtle magnifying effect that makes colors pop.
Domed pins can be produced using brass, stainless steel, or aluminum bases. Brass allows for optional gold or silver-tone plating. Stainless steel offers maximum durability, while aluminum is the most budget-friendly option with a brushed metal appearance.
Printing is done using offset or screen printing, depending on the design.
Screen printing allows color to be printed directly onto metal while leaving selected areas exposed for a clean, modern look.
Once printed, a clear polyurethane dome is applied over the artwork. Polyurethane is preferred over traditional epoxy because it stays crystal clear and resists yellowing over time.
